Happy "Spa"-lidays

by: Rita Templeton

Spa TreatsThe holidays are almost upon us—a time of the year that, for some of us, can be more stressful and harried than joyful and relaxed. Right now, you’re probably juggling your normal day-to-day activities with holiday shopping and planning gatherings (as if you didn’t have enough to do already!). All those extra tasks, no matter how “fun” they’re supposed to be, can add up to some major headaches if you don’t take a breather once in a while. So in the midst of picking out those perfect gifts, take the time to give yourself a little something!

We’ve compiled a list of some local spas—off-Strip alternatives to those packed and pricey tourist destinations—that are offering some fantastic holiday specials. Take advantage and tell ‘em E RealEstateExec sent you. (And while you’re at it, remember that spa certificates are never a bad gift idea!)

Pure Liquid Skin Studio
From facials to wraps to hot stone therapy to scrubs, Pure Liquid Skin Studio can put a festive glow on your face—or anywhere else you’ve got skin. They use an extensive selection of marine-based products which nourish, balance and hydrate the skin, and a range of treatments to suit every imaginable skin type and problem. If you’re a first-time client, purchase a one-hour facial and receive a free eyebrow wax (a $15 value), valid from November 1 through December 31, 2007.

Indulge yourselfHypnotic Salon and Spa
The upscale Hypnotic is renowned for its fabulous work with hair—after all, it's a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon—but its services don’t stop there. In addition to your ‘do,’ gussy up for a holiday party with a wax, a facial and a manicure. Beginning November 5 and running through December 25, 2007, you can get a basic facial for $55, a single-process color and cut for $145, and a double-process color and cut for $175.

Caribbean Day Spa
Specializing in holistic treatments, Caribbean Day Spa has a ton of seasonal specials on treatments your body will love. For example, for just $49, you can choose between a 45-minute Swedish massage, a green tea body wrap, or an aroma foot treatment, or you can sink that $49 into a microdermabrasion treatment (normally $99) with the purchase of a facial. There’s also the $99 Green Tea Spa Package: a 90-minute bliss-fest consisting of a green tea sugar scrub, a warm face, head, and body massage, and a cup of green tea to sip. With any facial, you’ll receive a free product kit containing a microdermabrasion scrub, vitamin C cleanser, and hydrating moisturizer. Or treat your honey to a $140 “couples retreat”—two 60-minute Swedish massages. Once your spa needs have been catered to, enjoy a free cut with any color service, and one month of unlimited tanning in their VHR beds for $19.99. All these specials run until January 15, 2008.

Give Spa trips for the holidaysEnchantment Day Spa
Touted as the “ultimate sensory experience,” Enchantment Day Spa incorporates warm towels, aromatherapy and trigger point stones—free of charge—into their treatments. They specialize in therapeutic massage, body treatments, facials and waxing, but don’t include hair or nail services in order to avoid filling the atmosphere with harsh aromas—a nice touch for sensitive noses. Through November 30, enjoy a $50 one-hour Euro Facial (normally $65), 10 percent off all massages, and 10 percent off all products sold in the spa.
4588 North Rancho Drive, Suite 12
(702) 228-3758; http://www.enchantmentdayspa.com

Zen Skin Salon and Spa
The brand new Zen Skin Salon and Spa lives up to its name, taking a holistic approach to total well-being. The house specialty is organic and “chirally”-correct facials, designed to soothe a variety of skin problems. But the comprehensive spa menu also includes favorites such as organic body wraps, waxing, tinting, makeup, and hair and nail care services. All facial clients take home samples of skincare products specially geared toward their skin type. For Zen Skin’s grand opening this month, they’re offering 20 percent off facials or body wraps, and 20 percent off brow or lash tinting. And if you purchase five facials or corrective peels, you get the sixth for free.

Las Vegas Spa SpecialsAngel’s Touch Spa
At Angel’s Touch, you might just feel like you’ve died and gone to heaven. Their spa menu consists of a wide variety of different massages (some up to 115 minutes!), luxurious treatments such as the crushed pearl body scrub and the salt glow with steam, and salon services such as waxing, perms, colors and cuts. But there are also a few offerings you may not find at a traditional spa, such as colonics, endermology treatments and laser hair removal. Through November, guests who purchase a facial will receive a free gift from Chella—one of the spa’s premiere skincare lines—a $25 value. In December, purchase any S-Solutions facial (an exclusive anti-aging facial) and get a $20 gift certificate toward the purchase of any S-Solutions anti-aging skincare.
8630 South Eastern Avenue
(702) 896-8811; http://www.angelstouchspa.com

When you’re the shopper, the planner and the host in addition to your normal duties—and expected to remain cheerful throughout—you’re more than entitled to a pick-me-up. So take a breather from wrapping those gifts, and wrap yourself in comfort (and seaweed); it’s a surefire recipe for a much happier holiday.
