LETTER
FROM THE PUBLISHER

Dear
Readers,
I would like to wish you all a joyful, tolerant, and consciousness-expanding
year to come. Those may not be the standard greeting words
for the New Year but they are specifically chosen with thought.
“Happy New Year” and “Healthy and Prosperous
New Year” are thrown about with no real feeling or
thought in the expression. This is a different kind of New
Year that needs a more thought-provoking kind of message,
don’t you think? Health and prosperity will come when
you are joyful, tolerant, and work to expand your consciousness.
Many of you have told me that you are happy that 2008 is
over and done with, and you are looking to 2009 for a fresh
start. That is a typical view of a new year—fresh
starts that is. And New Year’s resolutions for the
usual—lose weight, get healthy and exercise, stop
smoking, etc. But maybe this year it’s more like find
a job, downsize, or spend less. However, we are living in
historic times, and I believe as difficult as they are,
it is all good. Maybe it is the way that the universe is
providing a fresh start on deeper levels for all of us.
This economic downturn is not specific to one social or
economic demographic. It equally affects everyone and is
non-exclusive. Have you noticed that recently we are not
only talking to our neighbors but we are helping our neighbors
near and far? We are caring for each other like never before.
How great is that?
Now, you might say that is all well and good but I need
to pay my bills and find money to eat. From what I have
heard and been taught, abundance will come when you release
your burdens to your higher power (whoever that is for you—God,
Yahweh, Allah, Creator, Spirit, Source, etc.) and enjoy
this amazing planet that we have been given and all the
wonderful people there are here to get to know. It seems
simple, no? Release the fear and keep moving forward in
a positive direction. Doors will open. There are powerful
stories of resilience and courage and faith out there from
which to get encouragement. There are classes and seminars—that
are often free—to start expanding your thoughts and
spirit. There are libraries that actually loan books out
so you can expand your mind. Hug and kiss your family, friends
and pets and tell them how much you love them. It is radical,
I know, but you will feel wonderful.
Not
the typical publisher letter, for sure, but I felt compelled
to share these ramblings as I am on the same journey as
all of you. It doesn’t need to be hard or depressing.
Joy does not come from the stuff we have or the house we
live in or the FICO score we have.
This publication has been an enormous joy in my life and
I am grateful for all that I have learned and the people
that I have met and known along the way. I look forward
to a new year full of joy, personal and professional development,
and excitement as I have no idea where I will be next year,
next month or tomorrow. I am working on the beauty of the
moment and with that I am happy to present this month’s
issue of E RealEstateExec. The profiles and articles speak
for themselves with the exceptional writing and wonderful
subject matter that we continue to provide our readers.
Enjoy, and as always, we love feedback.
